Creating Nature's Corridors
Creating Nature's Corridors
“If we don’t take a landscape scale approach, with the funding to match the ambition, we are letting nature down, and failing to deliver for nature is ultimately the death knell for humanity too.” Sir John Lawton
Britain is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world. To restore resilience, our reserves need to be connected. Corridor creation is complex and depends on collaboration and long-term commitment.
We are testing philanthropic lending models that enable rewilding and conservation to begin without delay, while building the alliances needed to identify and establish nature corridors.
Our approach is multi-layered. Through Nature’s Loans, we provide philanthropic finance so projects can start now and repay later through grants or land-based income. At the same time, we are mapping the gaps between existing reserves, bringing partners together to identify corridor opportunities, and linking with nature finance schemes to encourage investment and business participation in corridor creation.

Nature recovery loans provide much needed bridging finance.
Nature's Loans enable projects to start without delay.

Reserves, farms, allotments, gardens need connection.
Corridor creation is complex and involves alliances and commitment.
Humans are a keystone species. We have caused widespread devastation, degradation, and fragmentation. Habitats are broken into smaller, disconnected patches by industry, roads, and housing. This fragmentation makes survival harder for species to maintain viable populations, and pushes many towards extinction.
We have to take a landscape scale approach to 30by30
We have a 20% decline in native species since 1900, 75% of land is altered by human activity, Forests have been cut to 68% of pre-industrial levels, urban areas have more than doubled since 1992.
But as a keystone species, we can shape, conserve and recover ecosystems

There are no corridors without farmers and land managers. You play a vital role in restoring nature and building climate resilience. We can explore nature finance opportunities, loans for nature as well corridor locations.

There are no corridors without collaboration. We are doing the hard work of building alliances that work. If you have a potential corridor in your area get in touch.

Corridors without community are unsustainable. Local business and community action is essential for this work.
You can nominate an area, donate to loans for nature, get involved in local nature recovery projects, and participate in fund raising.

Your county can build a corridor. We convene the people to make it happen.
If you want to be part of reviving these wild isles, get in touch.
